ரஷ்யாவில் விண்வெளி வீரர்களுக்கு காஸ்மோநாட் (cosmonaut) என்று பெயர். அமெரிக்கர்கள் தம் பங்குக்கு ஒரு பெயர் வைத்தார்கள் – அஸ்ட்ரோநாட் (astronaut). சீனா சும்மா இருக்குமா.. அவர்களும் தம் பங்குக்கு டேய்கோநாட் (taikonaut) என்று விண்வெளி வீரர்களை அழைக்க ஆரம்பித்து விட்டார்கள். இப்படி விண்வெளி வீரர்களுக்கு ஆளுக்கு ஆள் பெயர் வைப்பதில் சமீபத்தில் இந்தியாவும் இணைந்து கொண்டுள்ளது. அந்த பெயர் தான் வ்யோமநாட் (vyomanaut).
